Welcome back to another Tasting Tuesday, where we sip beers, share opinions, and occasionally offend large corporations. Today’s feature: Elvis Juice by BrewDog.

Now, before you start sharpening your pitchforks, let’s address the star destroyer in the room—Is BrewDog still a craft brewery?
Short answer: We’re... not totally sure.
Long answer: They say they’re “#1 Craft Brewer in Europe,” but they’re also a multinational empire that produces 100 million liters a year, so, uh, you tell us.
Final answer: We don’t care. They make some killer beer, so they’re invited to the party.

Meet the Beer: Elvis Juice

  • Style: American IPA

  • ABV: 6.5%

  • Calories: 193

  • Carbs: 13.5g

  • Hops: Amarillo, Citra, Magnum, Mosaic, Simcoe

  • Malts: Cara, Extra Pale

If you like citrus-forward IPAs that don’t just hint at grapefruit but straight-up body slam you with it, Elvis Juice will be your jam. Brewed with tart grapefruit peel layered over a caramel malt base, this beer punches you right in the citrus receptors—in the best possible way.

Tasting Notes:

  • Look: Bright amber-orange with a solid white head. A little haze and some suspended sediment if you’re lucky.

  • Smell: Full-on grapefruit assault with a sneaky hint of sweet candy underneath. There’s no mistaking what you’re about to drink.

  • Taste:
Immediate grapefruit hit, backed by layers of candied sweetness and a slightly bready malt body. The bitterness is there but not overwhelming—it’s more refreshing than punishing. Think fresh-squeezed juice... if that juice wanted to drive a muscle car.

  • Feel: Medium-bodied with a soft, easy-drinking carbonation. Dangerously smooth for 6.5%.

Review Roundup: What the Internet Thinks

  • Score: 88 ("Very Good")

  • Average Rating: 3.92 out of 5

  • Common Themes:

    • "Massive grapefruit punch"

    • "Balanced sweetness"

    • "Where are my hops?" (from some IPA purists)

    • "Drinkable as hell"

    • "Better brewed in Ohio than the UK" (hot debate alert 🚨)

One reviewer summed it up perfectly: “A candy-sweet IPA that doesn’t forget to bring the bitter.”

Another reviewer's take? The American-brewed Elvis Juice is so much better than the UK version, it's like comparing a leather jacket-wearing rock star to a knock-off Elvis impersonator at a gas station casino. (Their words, not ours... but we don't disagree.)

The Verdict: Should You Try It?

✅ If you love grapefruit: Absolutely.
✅ If you like IPAs but don’t want to chew on a pine tree: This one's for you.
✅ If you think "craft beer" can only come from a garage-sized brewery with one employee and a rescue dog: Maybe sip with caution... and a slightly open mind.

Final Cheers:

Elvis has not left the building.
He’s in your fridge, chilling at 6.5% ABV, ready to rock your tastebuds.

Whether you’re a full-blown hophead or just a weekend beer explorer, BrewDog’s Elvis Juice hits all the right notes for citrus lovers who want a little malt backbone with their zing.
